Hot Rolled Bar is produced in a mill by the process which involves rolling the steel at high temperature, which is above the steels recrystallization temperature. And when steel is above the recrystallization temperature, it can be shaped & formed easily & steel can be made in much larger sizes. Hot Rolled Steel is cheaper than cold rolled steel due to the fact that it is often manufactured without any delay in the process & therefore the reheating of steel is not required.

It is used in welding & construction trades to make rail road tracks & I-beams. It is used in a situations where precise shapes and tolerances are not required.
